I work out from home, but I feel connected to my 9AM crew like they’re friends, even though we’ve never met in person. The energy of the live workouts is amazing, but I also love having on-demand options when my schedule changes. The mix of strength and cardio keeps things fresh — I’ve never been bored! “Okay, my butt looks amazing — if I can brag a little. But more importantly, I’ve gotten my pink back. Let me explain… Fun fact: flamingo moms lose their rich pink color while raising their young, because so much of their energy goes into caring for their babies. But once their chicks are grown, they start to regain their pink. Human moms? We're not so different. After a few hard years raising my son, I started working out with my friend Monica. Since then, Movement Studio has been a huge part of getting my pink back. I’ve seen other moms show up too — post-baby, juggling childcare, waking up early — just to do something for themselves. And it’s not just moms. We all give so much of ourselves every day. Monica gives us the chance to take 45 minutes that are just for us — and that is such a gift.”

Being able to work out in my basement — and having a huge library of replays — means I never have to miss a beat, even in this crazy stage of life. What surprises me most? I feel genuinely connected to people I’ve never even met in person. The 6am crew is one of a kind — committed, hard-working, and always there to push each other while still having fun. (And yes, it took me a year to finally turn on my camera!) Monica has taught me to really tune in — to my heart rate zones, my form, and what my body actually needs. I’ve learned that pulling back sometimes isn’t weakness — it’s smart training. I’ve embraced Pilates and active recovery days, and I’m stronger because of it. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been. "When I joined Movement Studio as an older male, I was dealing with several relatively new health issues (Type 2 diabetes, Lupus, Atrial Fibrillation, torn meniscus) while the pandemic was going on. Because of these issues, especially the lupus flare, I felt miserable with no energy. I was also worried that I would lose general strength as I continue to age. Once I got my doctor's approval, I started working hard on these workouts. Thanks to a heightened awareness with strength training and balanced with cardio training, I have been able to be the strongest I have been in my whole life."
